Is Automation Of Industry Good For Us?


The companies matters most in making more money and they are always on the lookout for ways to minimize the costs to make the profits for the products they make. This is where factory automation comes into play. A factory that relies heavily on automation minimizes their expenditure as they have not to pay the labor costs, to produce products thereby increasing profits all the way around.

For every new innovation implemented there is always a debate on the pros and cons of it. So let's discuss over here the advantages and disadvantages of the industry innovation over here.

Automation relies on programmed machines to perform tasks which were performed by a human before. One of the problems is that these machines cost in the millions of dollars, which means a very high initial investment for the company before it starts. Now the investment which is made is meant to be recovered. Now the investor's thinks to recover it fast in the mode of profits but it's necessary to get the investments back either if it's in fast or slow mode. Now it's depend on the way the production is done or starts and how the work gets completed in the right time to get it delivered to the market to earn good profits to recover the investment. So it is very important to choose the way of production to turn the organization into profits. In theory, the investors can make the investment back in a few years by not having to pay an employee to do the job, who was replaced by the machine. But what if the job becomes unnecessary? This means that they spent a lot of money that was not needed. This money can be invested in the other part of business to develop the organization, like hiring skill workers in other departments where machines can't replace human.

The other debate can be as these machines are machines which can replace man but never can replace the brain of man. It is the human who can react to any debacle happen at any time of production, but whereas the machines don't have the much knowledge to react at any debacle till the program for the machine is not structured to do so. Most of us think that the machines are perfect to replace human but it is not the case. The machines have to be updated every time a debacle occurs so that the machine is ready for the next time so that the loss does not occur next time. Whereas the human is always ready for anything and to sort out the problem anytime required.

The other biggest factors affected by the automation of the industry are the humans, because of loss of work. It takes jobs away from the people who need them badly. It does harm the economy because the more people that are out of jobs the worse the economy is. This can change the face of the region.
So there are many advantages and disadvantages of automation, but this has to be utilized limitedly for the benefit of human kind but not to worse hit the human life. Utilize it for the best cause to serve human in the best way.

The Most Effective Industrial Dust Collection Systems


Industrial dust collection equipment is used as a form of industrial air cleaning. Most industrial dust collection systems are used in manufacturing workplaces to process large amounts of air and remove fine particles. Without effective industrial dust collection systems, airborne particles could collect in the workplace air and affect employee health as well as doing damage to the correct functioning of equipment.

There are several types of industrial dust collection systems, each with unique methods of removing dust from the air. It's difficult to pinpoint which industrial dust collection system is most effective, but read on below for the basics of each type.

Electrostatic precipitators are industrial dust collection gear that use electrostatic charges to separate dust from the incoming stream of air. The dusty air is "vacuumed" into the system, passed through the pre-filter and through the negative and positive electrodes, which in turn cause the particles to attach to the positively charged grounded electrode, or collection plate. Once the particles have been removed, the clean air passes through a second air filter and back into the room.

Media filtration industrial collection methods are used to filter dust from the incoming air stream by using a screening material or fabric. When the fabric is placed in the path of the air stream, the dust particles are trapped in the fabric, creating a "dust cake." When the dust cake increases, it actually becomes a more effective collection tool by trapping more and more particles from the incoming air.

Cyclone industrial collection systems are large central funnels attached to workplace ducts. Any airborne dust and debris is sucked into the ductwork and transported to the cyclone dust system, and then passed into a high-speed cyclone funnel to separate particles from clean air. Once the separation is complete, the particulate matter is collected in a container, while the smaller dust particles are expelled through an outside vent.

Air washers, also called wet scrubbers, are mostly used as a way to control potential dust fires or explosion risk. The air washer industrial collection method uses water to absorb fine dust particles and then removes the particles in a fine mist which is collected for removal in a clarification tank where the dust settles to the bottom.

Industrial dust collection systems are available in a variety of designs to manage the different types of workplace dust issues. Since dust can remain permanently in lung tissue and has the potential to cause workplace fires and explosions, managing dust properly is the best way to prevent health and safety problems in industrial settings. As you can see, properly chosen industrial dust collection systems are a vital part of most any industry.

Performing a Vanishing Act With Dust Control Systems


The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a useful resource on controlling dust. In Chapter 3 of the OSHA handbook, it explains why dust should be controlled, the various forms of dust control systems that are available, and how to select the correct one, and how to design a water spray system to limit the spread of dust.

Some reasons why dust should be controlled are to reduce and prevent the chance of dust explosions and fires. Also the reduction of accidents is greater with better visibility of the workplace. Reducing dust will also decrease the wear and tear on equipment and minimize the need for maintenance. For employees, less dust will require less protective gear that is needed as well as reduce the possibility of foul odors, which can have a negative effect on productivity.

There are three basic types of dust control systems that are being utilized today that companies can select from. There are systems that operate using a ventilation system in a building to remove or capture dust particles. There are also wet dust suppression systems at the ground level that use water to dampen the soil or other small particles that make them too heavy to become airborne. Airborne dust can also be thwarted with a water system where a spray can join with the particles causing them to fall to the ground.

There are four major parts to most industrial dust control systems. There is a capturing apparatus at the source of the dust. This is usually an exhaust hood. Attached to this hood is duct work that carries the dust to a dust collector. At the collector, the dust is taken from the air. At the end of the duct work, after the dust is removed from the air, is the fan and motor which is the power behind the airflow.

The main parts of a water spray system include the spray nozzle, a hose that supplies the water, and, of course, the water source. The most important part is the spray nozzle. This is where the spray pattern and velocity of the spray are regulated for a water spray dust control system.
